The Teams Archive Collections is a new series of blog posts for 2017. This series explores the different collections held by the Archive, and sheds some light on the life of Teams.
For those who don’t already know, I am solely responsible for the creation of the Teams of Our Lady Transatlantic Super-Regional Archive, a digital archive, comprised of documents and images collated over the last 60 years. (For information about Teams of Our Lady, please visit the links at the bottom of the page).
A word of experience:
‘The International College consists of the International Leading Team, and the Responsible Couples of the various Super-Regions across the world, which meets to coordinate and oversee the Worldwide movement, developing guidance, and resources such as study topics, and training materials. The College meets annually in different countries, giving members of the College a chance to meet local Team members, and find out how Teams are going in the locality. In 2016, the College was held in the UK, at Swanwick, in Derbyshire, at an Ecumenical Conference Centre’.
(Antony and Janet Denman, Northampton St. Thomas team).
The International Colleges Collections
The collection is made up of material created for international colleges, and in the process of planning for international colleges. This includes material such as reports from the international meetings, talks, presentations and workshops given at the colleges, programmes of events, and booklets and handbooks created to accompany conferences.
The collection has been catalogued and digitised in its entirety, according to ISAD-G, the International Standard for Archival Description, and has been arranged into 10 series. Each series represents a particular year and are named as such:
- 1998: Maredsous
- 2005: Mauritius
- 2007: Durham
- 2010: Madrid
- 2011: Bogota
- 2012: Brasilia
- 2013: Bordeaux
- 2014: Boston
- 2015: Rome
- 2016: Swanwick
This collection is fairly small, and the archive does not hold material from all of the Regional Conferences that have been held. (The 2017 International College is due to be held in Florianopolis, Brazil). The archive would welcome the opportunity to expand the International Colleges collection, and can be contacted by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
