The Teams Archive Collections is a new series of blog posts for 2017. This series explores the different collections held by the Archive, and sheds some light on the life of Teams.
For those who don’t already know, I am solely responsible for the creation of the Teams of Our Lady Transatlantic Super-Regional Archive, a digital archive, comprised of documents and images collated over the last 60 years. (For information about Teams of Our Lady, please visit the links at the bottom of the page).
‘Teams numbers in Great Britain increased sufficiently that it seemed logical to split the Great Britain Region into three. However, there were several functions which are best organised at GB level, and so the three Regional Couples meet regularly, to coordinate these. Firstly, GB Region had charitable status, which gives the organisation tax advantages through the UK Gift Aid scheme. Secondly, the newsletter has continued as a single entity for the whole of GB. Thirdly, the content and timings of the annual gatherings for each Region are coordinated, and from time to time a single residential gathering is organised. Finally, literature is prepared and organised at Province level’.
(Antony and Janet Denman, Northampton St. Thomas Team).
The GB Province Collection
The collection has been catalogued and digitised in its entirety, according to ISAD-G, the International Standard for Archival Description. The collection is relatively small, and so rather than create series holding one or two items, the items come directly below the collection level.
The records reflect the nature of GB Province, consisting entirely of agendas, minutes and notes for GB Province meetings. The archive would welcome the opportunity to expand the GB Province collection, and can be contacted by e-mail: email@example.com
